Avinyo - Blanc de Noirs

This 2018 sparkling wine is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir. Back in 1980, Avinyó's founder, Joan Esteve, brought vine cuttings from France, making Avinyó one of Spain's pioneer wineries to plant Pinot Noir on an experimental basis. Using the Traditional Method, this Cava offers a delightful blend of fresh green apple and zesty lemon notes at first sip, followed by the rich flavors of brioche and toasted almonds. It's a worthy competitor to Champagne, offering an equally luxurious and refreshing experience.

To enjoy this Avinyo Blanc de Noirs, first, chill it in the fridge for a few hours until it's around 45 - 50°F (7 - 10°C). When you're ready to serve, hold the bottle at a 45 - degree angle and gently remove the wire cage. Then, slowly twist the bottle, not the cork, until it eases out with a soft pop. Pour it into a flute glass to preserve the bubbles. Remember, once opened, try to finish the wine within a day or two. You can keep it in the fridge with a wine stopper, but the longer it's open, the more it'll lose its fizz and flavor.
