Product Description
In 2017, this fantastic red blend hails from Terra Alta, Spain. It's crafted from 40% Grenache, 30% Carignan, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Syrah. The winery, Coca i Fito, was founded in 2006 by brothers Toni and Miquel, sons of farmers who grew up in the vineyards. Certified organic, it's located in Catalonia, Spain, in the DO Monstant. The brothers are passionate about caring for the vines, the environment, and the planet. The vines used are between 15 and 90 years old, with some as old as 100 years, growing in a mix of clay, limestone, and slate soils. On the palate, you'll taste dark fruits like blackberries, juniper, and a hint of herbs and spice. This wine is a perfect match for braised chorizo in red wine or patatas bravas.
To enjoy this Coca i Fito 'Aloja' Red wine, first, let it breathe for about 30 minutes to an hour. Pour it into a wine glass and take in the rich aroma. Sip it slowly to fully appreciate the flavors of dark fruits, herbs, and spice. It pairs great with braised chorizo in red wine or patatas bravas. When storing, keep it in a cool, dark place. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Once opened, try to finish the bottle within a few days and keep it in the fridge with a cork to preserve the flavor.
