Product Description
The 2017 Bonarda from El Enemigo, hailing from Mendoza, Argentina, is a wine with a rich story. Winemakers Alejandro Vigil and Adrianna Catena aim to craft quality wines that evoke the time when European settlers first arrived in Argentina. The vines, located at the foothills of Maipu in Mendoza at 2,145 - 4,851ft, grow on calcareous chalk - sand soils. This forces the roots deep, intensifying the grape flavors. In the glass, it's a deep violet color with alluring scents of black cherry, blueberries, cocoa, and a hint of dried herbs. It has a medium body, silky tannins, and flavors of dark fruit, licorice, and spice. Ideal to pair with empanadas, swordfish, or mole sauces.
To enjoy this El Enemigo Bonarda, first, let it breathe for about 30 minutes before pouring. Serve it at a temperature of around 55 - 60°F. This wine pairs well with empanadas, swordfish, or mole sauces, enhancing your dining experience. Keep it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, try to finish it within 2 - 3 days and store the remaining wine in the refrigerator with a cork.
