Herencia Chardonnay

This 2021 Chardonnay hails from Mendoza, Argentina. The Los Carneros area is famous for its afternoon cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean. The combination of wind and fog lowers the temperature, enabling the grapes to ripen slowly. The Chardonnay grapes are carefully hand - picked at night, whole - cluster pressed gently, and then fermented in oak barrels (60% French and 40% American). 70% of the grapes undergo malolactic fermentation to balance the acidity. They then age for 14 months in the barrels with weekly lees stirring to enhance the flavor. On the nose, you'll detect rich crème brûlée aromas with hints of pear, white peach, and apricot. This wine has a lively acidity and a crisp, refreshing finish.
