Kongsgaard - Chardonnay

In 2022, from the renowned Napa Valley. John Kongsgaard, a fifth - generation Napan, grew up when Napa had just a handful of wineries. After earning his master’s in viticulture and enology from UC Davis, he worked at famous wineries like Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and Newton Vineyards. In 1996, he produced the first Kongsgaard vintage. In 2004, John and his wife Maggy bought land on Atlas Peak. The steep, low - yielding vineyards there create opulent yet elegant Chardonnays. The 2021 vintage offers rich crème brûlée flavors, along with toasted almond and tropical citrus notes, and a long, spicy finish. It pairs perfectly with scallop bisque.
