Product Description
This is a Gamay wine hailing from Fleurie, Beaujolais, France. The vines are part of winemaker Marie - Élodie Zighera - Confuron's maternal family, with a 4 - generation heritage. Their 17 - hectare estate on the sloping hills of Morgon once sold fruit to a cooperative under the care of her grandmother and later her mother. Marie - Élodie decided to become a winemaker at 15. After studying in Beaujolais, Cotes - du - Rhone and Burgundy, she took over the estate in 2006. A devotee of traditional winemaking, she believes Gamay can be elegant, complex and age well. She makes only 3 wines on the estate. 'Mademoiselle M' is her most youthful wine, perfect for daily enjoyment. It's fun and easy to drink, yet retains complexity, finesse and intrigue. You can taste notes of pomegranate, raspberries, lilac, candied rose petals and baking spice, with fine tannins and a long, smooth finish. Pair it with camembert cheese, classic roast poultry or seared salmon.
To enjoy this 'Mademoiselle M' Gamay wine, first, let it breathe for about 15 - 30 minutes before pouring. This helps open up the flavors. Serve it at a cool temperature, around 50 - 55°F. You can pair it with camembert cheese, classic roast poultry or seared salmon as mentioned. Just pour it into a wine glass and savor the unique blend of pomegranate, raspberry, lilac and other flavors. When storing, keep it in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and strong odors. If you have any leftover wine, seal the bottle tightly and refrigerate it. It should still be good for a day or two, but the flavors may start to change a bit over time.
